How to Fix ‘Unable to Send Emails’ Issue with Yahoo?

| Updated on February 13, 2024

The inability to send emails can arise with any of the email services even if it is a reputed name like ‘Yahoo’. So if this is the case, you can try to resolve the issue by fixing the causes that are leading to the problem. So when you are not able to send emails via Yahoo, look for the factors that are causing the error and then try to resolve them.

Here are the troubleshooting steps that you can use to fix ‘Yahoo email not sending’ issue:

  1. First, you need to ensure that the problem is not arising from Yahoo’s end. The Yahoo servers must be working properly in order to avoid issues while sending emails.
  2. Next, check if the network you are connected to is not having any issues. If the connection is poor or breaking in between, you may face issues while sending emails. You can move to another network that is providing adequate signal strength.
  3. If you are unable to send the email through the Yahoo app, it is possible the app is not of the latest version. You can install the latest version from the play store of your device or if it is already updated, you can uninstall and reinstall it again.
  4. If the email you are trying to send contains an email attachment having a size of more than 25 MB. This is because of the security reasons that Yahoo doesn’t let you send an attachment of a size greater than 25 MB.
  5. You can check the sent folder of your account for the email you are trying to send. If it is lying there, it means the email has been successfully sent.
  6. Ask the person to whom you are trying to send an email to check his spam folder. Also, confirm if he has added you to the blocked address list mistakenly.
  7. Ensure that the address you are entering to send emails is correct and valid.
  8. You can also talk to Yahoo representative via chat or other contact methods regarding the mail sending problem.
  9. If you are using your Yahoo mail account with an email client like Outlook, you need to ensure that you have configured the correct POP/IMAP settings for your Yahoo account. You can check if you have entered the correct settings by matching the settings given below:
