Does Facebook Tell you Who Viewed your Story?

We are always eager to know who is watching us, don’t we? Especially when we post something about a certain someone.

But what if we don’t know how to find that out? Not being able to watch whether your ex stalked you or the person you dedicated the story to watched it or not, must be annoying…

As Facebook continues to launch its new interesting features, the platform brought its stories feature back in 2017. Well, since it’s still around – we have to say it must’ve been a hit. Some users have been confused about who viewed their story. In order to solve this query, we are here with some easy tips! In this article, we are going to discuss how to see who viewed your story and how you can create one. Now let’s dive right into it without wasting a minute!

How to See Who Viewed Your Story on Facebook?

It isn’t a big deal to find out who has viewed your story on Facebook. Even though it is the era of gen Z, many of us still prefer to stay the traditional way and use Facebook. There are many new features rolling out once in a while in the platform, and it almost looks like a new app.

Well, going back to our query of the day – here are some easy steps to find out who has viewed your story on Facebook.

  • Launch your official Facebook app on your Android or iPhone device.
  • Go to the Stories section on the top of your feed; tap on Your Story.
  • After tapping on your recently posted story, you can locate the viewers’ count in the bottom left corner of your screen.
  • Tap on the viewers’ option, or you can swipe up to see the list of names who have viewed your Facebook story.

Note: If you cannot see any viewers count just yet, it means people are yet to see your story. So, wait for a couple of minutes to refresh it and watch it again later.

These were the steps about how you can see who viewed your profile on Facebook. Now let’s see how you can create a story on Facebook.

How to Create a Facebook Story?

Being one of the most used social media platforms today, Facebook has truly come a long way. Like many other platforms, Facebook came up with the feature of adding stories for your followers

If you want in on the action and haven’t used FB Stories before, creating one just takes a few seconds. Here’s how to do it within Facebook.

  • Open the Facebook app on your device and tap on Create Story.
  • Then click on the camera icon and take a picture or record a video as you wish.
  • Select the little wand icon on the right side to add effects.
  • Select Share to Story to upload it to Facebook.

Your Facebook Story will stay live for 24 hours, like in most other social media apps. People can view it and message you as they see it.

Control Who Sees your Facebook Story?

There are many people who prefer to stay private, so much that it seems as if the add friends button is missing from their Facebook profile. And hence want to keep the list of people limited to who can watch their story as well. Now, let’s see how one can do so and follow the easy methods given below:

The same privacy options that the users get with Facebook updates or posts are available within Facebook Stories as well. The users can control who sees what by customizing them as per their preference before sharing.

  • Select Create Story from within the app.
  • Then click on the camera icon and take a picture or record a video as you wish.
  • Then tap on Privacy from the left bottom of the screen.
  • Choose your preference for story privacy as you wish.
  • Change the setting as shown above and hit Save.

As in other Facebook settings like uploading a profile picture without notifying anyone and hiding likes on Facebook, the Public setting makes stories available to anyone. While the Friends and Connections setting restricts the story to just people who you want to share it with, Friends sets the option just for people who are friends with the user on Facebook. The Custom option is used to specify who gets to see the story.

You can also modify these settings, even after your story gets published using the following steps.

  • Press and hold onto Your Story.
  • Select Edit Story Privacy.
  • Now select Public, Friends and Connections, Friends Only, Custom, or Hide Story From option as you want to.

Note: You can select Custom if you want to show your Story to specific people and tap on Hide story if you wish to hide your story from some people.

  • Select Save once ready and share it.

That’s the basics of the Facebook Story. It’s a simple feature that adds another dimension to the social network, even if it is a “blatant” copy of someone else’s idea!

How Do Facebook Stories Work?

Facebook Stories features likes and comments and other reactions like the rest of the social media platforms. The following are the steps to make it easier to understand how Facebook Stories work.

  • When you post a Facebook story, it appears at the top of the News Feed.
  • When your friends post a story, their profile pic will appear along with the story.
  • Stories that have not been viewed yet will have a blue circle around them, and the ones that are seen will not.
  • You can select the profile picture to view their story, and it will play.
  • You can view and move on. Sending messages to the person directly is also provided.

So this was about how Facebook Stories work, hopefully, you were able to understand the process.
