Possible Ways to Recover or Reset Amazon Account Password

If you have one and are not able to log in to your Amazon account due to issues related to password, this guide is going to help you out with recovering your Amazon account by resetting the password. So here are the options you have to reset your Amazon account password:

Method-1 Reset Amazon Password Using your Mobile Number or Email Address

To reset the Amazon account password:

  1. Go to amazon.com
  2. Click on the ‘Sign in’ button in the top-right corner.

  1. Next, enter your mobile number or email linked to your Amazon account and click on ‘Continue’.

  1. Enter the OTP you have received on your email or mobile number and click on ‘Continue’. If you don’t receive the OTP, click on ‘Resend OTP’ to request it again.

  1. Then you have to approve the password change request from your phone as well, check your phone for notification and click on the link that you have received.
  2. Tap ‘Approve’ for the password change request on your phone.
  3. After that you will be allowed to create a new password for your Amazon account;

To reset the Amazon account password:

  1. Go to amazon.com
  2. Click on the ‘Sign in’ button in the top-right corner.

Next, you will be asked to enter your mobile number or email address that is linked to your Amazon account, but if you don’t have access to any of the information, you simply have to click on the ‘Customer Service’ link given just below the ‘Continue’ option to get help to restore access to your account.

  1. On the next page, select the issue ‘My password isn’t working’ from the drop-down menu, and you will get some information. At the bottom of the page, you will also get the contacts numbers to connect with the Amazon Customer Service team that you can use as per the country you belong to:
  • U.S. and Canada- 1-800-388-5512
  • International- 1-206-577-1364
  1. After connecting with the Amazon Customer Service team using the numbers, you have to explain to them the issue you are facing and answer the questions asked by them. Make sure to not give any false information as they could deny your password change request as well if you are not able to verify yourself or answer the questions asked by them. 
  2. After verifying all the information, they will give you a temporary password using which you will be allowed to log in to your Amazon account. It is recommended to again change your password to keep your account secure.
