How to Recover Permanently Deleted Gmail Account?

It is normal to do some mistakes and if you have mistakenly deleted your Gmail account, chances are you may have lost it permanently. If you have deleted it a few days back, you have more chances of getting it back. However, those accounts that were deleted a few months or years back have no chance of recovery. But still you can try your luck if you remember your Gmail username and password; in case you do not remember your password, you need to have access to the phone number linked to your Gmail account. 

Important- You cannot recover a deleted Gmail account if you don’t remember your password and don’t have any phone number linked to it as well.

Steps to Recover a Permanently Deleted Gmail Account

Scenario 1- If You Remember your Password

  1. Go to this link on a web browser- https://accounts.google.com/signin/v2/recoveryidentifier?flowName=GlifWebSignIn&flowEntry=ServiceLogin
  2. Enter your ‘Gmail username’ that you want to recover and click ‘Next’.
  3. You will see a message that ‘This account was recently deleted and may be recoverable’; if you don’t see this message, it means your account cannot be recovered; press ‘Next’ to continue.
  4. Then enter your Gmail account’s password and click on ‘Next’
  5. You will see a message ‘Success-you’ve undeleted your account’; after that, you can successfully log into your Gmail account.

Scenario 2- If You Don’t Remember your Password

  1. Go to this link on a web browser- https://accounts.google.com/signin/v2/recoveryidentifier?flowName=GlifWebSignIn&flowEntry=ServiceLogin
  2. Enter your ‘Gmail username’ that you want to recover and click ‘Next’.
  3. You will see a message that ‘This account was recently deleted and may be recoverable’; if you don’t see this message, it means your account cannot be recovered; press ‘Next’ to continue.
  4. When you are asked to enter your password, click on ‘Try another way’ 
  5. Now, click on ‘Send’ to get the verification code on your number.
  6. Enter the code and click on ‘Verify’.
  7. You may also be required to verify your recovery email address if you have added it to your Gmail account.
  8. After verification, you can simply create a new password for your Gmail account 

After that, your deleted Gmail account will be recovered and you will see the message ‘Success-you’ve undeleted your account’
