How to Deactivate Instagram Account?

Instagram accounts are really great when you want to build an audience for your business. People also use it to get a sneak peek into their favorite celebrity’s life; however, sometimes staying active on social media for hours can affect your personal life and you may want to get a break. Whatever is the reason, you can easily take your time off from your Instagram account by simply deactivating it; follow the given steps to deactivate your Instagram account.

  1. Open the Instagram app and log into your account
  2. Tap the profile icon given at the bottom of the page
  1. Then tap the menu icon given in the top-right corner of the screen
  1. Tap ‘Settings’
  1. Then tap the ‘Help’ option and  go to ‘Help Centre’
  1. You will be directed to a new page on your mobile browser where you will see some options; tap ‘Managing your account’
  1. You will see the message ‘The requested page could not be found’
  1. In the search box, type your query ‘How Do I Temporarily Disable my Instagram Account?’ and select the same from the drop-down menu.
  1. On the next page, you will see the message that you have to login to instagram.com on a computer; you cannot disable your account from within the app; however, you can also do it using the mobile browser; simply tap ‘instagram.com’
  1. Again login to your Instagram account; tap the profile icon at the bottom; then tap ‘Edit Profile’
  1. Scroll down and you will see the option ‘Temporarily disable my account’; tap that.
  1. On the next page, you can go through the information regarding disabling your account, and then you have to select the reason for doing so. Tap the drop-down menu for ‘Why are you disabling your account?’ and re-enter your password
  1. Finally, tap ‘Temporarily Disable Account’

Note- You can reactivate your disabled Instagram account by simply logging in again. However, you can only deactivate your Instagram account once a week.
