Meta is eager to lead you to believe that the new Ray-Ban smart glasses go well beyond technology by positioning them as fashion statements. The very recent partnership with the prized French luxury Coperni accentuates that the smart glasses are supposed to be a part of haute couture.
It is something for the client’s closet next to a designer handbag and a pair of elegant stiletto heels, for an audience that is beyond just die-hard tech enthusiasts. At the Coperni Fall/Winter 2025 fashion show, the collaboration is being launched; the launch occurred in the heart of the Paris Fashion Week. Introducing the exclusive Ray-Ban Meta x Coperni eyeglasses.
They retain the ever-classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer ‘cut,’ yet they come in a sleek clear black color with the Coperni logo up front and fabulous grey mirror lenses flanking the front. Production will be limited to only 3,600 pairs, with each priced at $549, an increase from the basic Meta Ray-Bans, which are usually priced at around $299.
The specs purportedly offer the same level of AI intelligence as standard Ray-Ban glasses within their class-featuring a built-in camera and microphone for content capture and open-ear speakers for audio enjoyment-hence the premium price tag, which in fact pays for all Coperni branding.
Coperni is indeed a cutting-edge French fashion label when it comes to the fact that it makes a rather original use of new technologies in its designs. Founded by Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, the brand promises to marry fashion and tech, “French, sexy, sci-fi” would describe its aesthetic.
With the likes of Bella Hadid’s spray-on dress going viral and the CD Player Swipe Bag, Coperni beautifully marries big to little in technology and high fashion. With the creative launch of this new eyepiece of Ray-Ban, it seems that Meta has finally jumped to the full, into the world of wearable technology.
