Why Mobile-Friendly Websites are a Key Factor to SEO Success

Posted on September 23, 2021 | By Freddie George

Mobile-friendliness is the way a website appears and behaves on a smartphone or tablet. A responsive design ensures that mobile-friendly websites offer a great user experience. It adjusts the content to fit every screen and displays it in a way that is easy to read.

Mobile-friendliness is crucial for both search engines as well as users since more searches are done on mobile devices than on desktops (52.22% of internet traffic is from mobile devices and this number is rising).

Because of the rapid changes in how people access your website, it is essential you hire an agency that specializes in website design for lawyers so your site is optimized to its fullest potential.

Strong SEO and Your Web Site on Mobile Devices

Mobile devices account for more than half the global web traffic.

Google considers mobile page loading speed a key metric in determining your website’s search ranking. This is important since 94% of organic search traffic comes to Google. Google provides free online tools that will help you assess how mobile-friendly your site is. It also offers tips and tricks to help you optimize

All businesses, large and small, must consider digital marketing. Digital marketing is essential for driving traffic to your website, landing pages, as well as capturing new clicks. Ranking on Google and other search engines is also important. Businesses can increase their search engine result pages (SERP) ranking by optimizing their websites and content. This is called an organic search strategy and can be extremely effective.

Google is now focusing on mobile-friendly website optimization as more internet traffic comes from mobile devices. If you fail to create a mobile-friendly site, all your organic search efforts may be wasted.

Mobile Optimization and SEO Page Ranking

Google has made mobile page load speeds a key metric in determining a website’s SEO ranking since July 2018. A penalty will be applied to all websites whose mobile pages are slow or not responsive.

Google accounts for 94% of all organic search traffic globally. This means you cannot ignore Google’s shift to mobile-friendly optimization. Mobile optimization is a must-have for website optimization.

Tony Palazzo, vice-president of operations and marketing at Logical Position, stated that slow mobile websites could result in a drop in Google’s mobile organic rankings. The ranking has been about speed, but it used to be based on your desktop site. Now, it will look at the mobile site load speed.

How to Tell if Your Website is Mobile-Friendly

Google’s Google Search Console makes it easy to check how your website loads on mobile devices. Just enter the URL of your website and Google will show you if it is mobile-friendly according to its current algorithm. You can also plug in your website’s code to check if it is mobile-friendly prior to going live.

According to Sean Brady, President of Americas at Emarsys, “Google may rank slower sites with great content higher, but it’s clear that developers and companies must emphasize performance and user experience on mobile platforms.” Companies must choose the right technology to deliver personalized content and high-performance mobile apps.

Tip: Google Search Console makes it easy to check how your website loads on mobile devices. Just enter the URL of your website and Google will tell if it is mobile-friendly.

    Mobile Optimization and User Experience

Mobile optimization is more than just ranking higher in SERPs. It is also crucial to driving traffic. Mobile devices are becoming more popular than ever. More than half of global web traffic is now accessed via mobile devices. This share is increasing year-over-year. Mobile users who find slow or cumbersome websites will likely leave and never return, just like desktop website users.

Your mobile website should be simple to navigate. You’ve probably experienced a frustrating experience when you visit a website that was not designed for mobile devices. Mobile-friendly layouts (e.g., lots of vertical scrolling and simple-to-press buttons) will make sure that users stay on your site when they land. Mobile users will be frustrated by large amounts of horizontal scrolling, small checkboxes, and dropdown menus.

The Impact of Mobile Devices on a Wider Digital Marketing Strategy

While optimizing a website to be mobile-friendly is an important part of any larger digital marketing strategy it is not the only aspect.

It is crucial to communicate your brand message on social media and via email. You can also fine-tune your content to fit each channel to reach your target audience wherever they are most active.

A holistic digital marketing strategy will allow you to retarget customers who have visited your site before, increasing conversion traffic and building brand loyalty.

Brady stated that email marketing has a return on investment nearly twice as high as social media, mobile, and other digital marketing platforms. You can develop other marketing channels to increase your ROI and improve your website’s ranking while you focus on mobile-friendly redevelopment. Although an omnichannel strategy doesn’t replace a mobile-friendly site, it can be used as part of the same effort.

Brady said that Google’s mobile focus directly impacts the brand’s omnichannel marketing strategies. Especially since millennials use an average of 4.5 devices to interact with brands. This forces developers to keep their eyes on the mobile experience. Marketers must provide consistent, personalized content across channels to maintain their competitive edge in the e-commerce market.

Did you know that? Your ranking can be affected by factors such as loading time, design, font sizes, mobile apps, optimized content, and even font size.

Mobile optimization is essential to improve or maintain your SERP ranking. Your ranking can be boosted by optimizing content, loading time, design, font sizes, and a mobile application. Optimized websites for mobile devices are a great complement to your digital marketing strategy. They can also support remarketing efforts.Your small business cannot afford to ignore mobile customers in this mobile-first age. It doesn’t matter if your website is mobile-friendly, you want to make it more mobile-friendly, or you are trying to catch up with mobile visitors. You must stay on top of search engine algorithms when it comes to mobile websites.
