Guidance to PMP Certification Exam Prep

| Updated on March 27, 2024

From attending the training class to taking the PMP exam, I went through two months of preparation for the PMP certification exam, and with my consistent efforts, I finally passed the exam successfully and acquired the 4P (initial, execution, planning, and closing) 1A(monitoring) results. Reviewing my preparation, I summarize several tips that may be helpful for other candidates preparing for the exam,

1. Master the knowledge of PMBOK, the guidance of PMP certification dumps by Spoto online. I have read PMBOK at least four times before I took the exam. I felt very bored when I first read it because it was all about theories. However, when you read it second or third times, you may find that it is very useful and meaningful. Every time I read it, I tried to understand the meaning of every sentence and memorize them by combining them with the real project cases, which proves to be very effective. Then, you need to listen to the class carefully and take notes down. The teacher in the class I attended would give vivid explanations of the knowledge of PMBOK by using real practices as examples so that we could better remember. The last time I read the textbook, I started writing down key knowledge without looking at the book, which could help me sort out the knowledge structure, particularly the ITTO part. If time allowed, you can also read some other materials to enrich your understanding.

2. Arrange your time properly. Because most candidates already have work or they have to take care of their families, so they do not have adequate time for learning the knowledge. It is suggested to make a timetable. During the process of PMP exam prep, I required myself to learn two hours every night and made corresponding learning tasks. Every weekend, I would go to a library or university learning room to study for 8 hours or so. If the night that day I could still be able to learn, I would learn more. In this case, I greatly improve my efficiency. Even so, I still felt the time was not enough for reading and reviewing, so stay persistent while you are preparing so that you can succeed.

3. Join in or set up a learning group. A learning group is really helpful for learning. You can share your ideas with other candidates and learn to analyze from different perspectives. Besides, a learning group will organize the PMP sample exam link to know more! In a good learning atmosphere, you will feel more motivated. To actively ask questions once you have encountered questions that you do not understand. You should figure that out completely and do not carry doubts into the exam site.

4. Sample tests. It is necessary to take the PMP exam sample tests before you take the real exam. It seems that we can finish the PMP exam sample questions within 2 hours in daily practice. However, in the real exam, you will find that the time is not enough. Therefore, you need to cultivate the good habit of allocating time properly. Mark out the questions that you are uncertain about and check the book later on. In this case, you will have a deep memory of the knowledge points.

However, do not rely too much on the sample questions. The guidance PMBOK is the core.
This is my experience of preparing for the PMI PMP exam. Personally, the most important thing is your attitude and the right learning method. I hope everyone can pass the exam and apply what they have learned in real working conditions.
