After the successful launch in China last year, Xiaomi is to debut on the global stage later this month. The company has confirmed this development and has started posting promos and teasers through various social media sites.
Xiaomi 14 Pro and regular Xiaomi 14 debuted in China last year with much fanfare, featuring top-of-the-line processor Snapdragon 8 gen 3. Other flagship devices with the same processors launched worldwide are the Samsung S24 series and the OnePlus 12 series.
Xiaomi’s founder and CEO, Lei Jun, announced the global release date for the highly anticipated Xiaomi 14 Series and the launch will be held at MWC in Barcelona. Lei Jun took to social media, “It’s a moment we share. Feb 25th, the ‘Lens To Legend’ journey begins. Get ready to be inspired.”
Apart from Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, the much-awaited Xiaomi 14 Ultra is also slated to release on the same date.
The China variant of Xiaomi 14 pro featured a 6.73-inch 2K AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate and 3000nits peak brightness. Coming with 12GB / 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB / 512GB / 1TB UFS 4.0 storage variants, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the phone is top-of-the-line.
The Xiaomi 14 featured a 6.36-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 3000nits peak brightness. Coming with 8GB/12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.0 storage variants, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the phone is top of the line.
Both devices also pack some powerful cameras with the inclusion of Leica branding like the Xiaomi 13 series. Both the devices also have a triple camera system with a 50 MP (OIS) + 50MP Telephoto (3.2x zoom) + 50MP Ultra-wide rear camera setup and 32 MP front. One of the lenses is a custom Lecia Summilux lens with variable apertures ranging from f/1.42 to f/4.0.
We expect that the global variant should have the same specifications with a few modifications to the software. Software may be tweaked to accommodate the global user base.
