Microsoft’s latest update for Windows 11 has made a few bumps for the users who have upgraded to the 24H2 version of its operating system. February’s cumulative update, called KB5051987 for users in 24H2, took tremendous strides in fixing bugs.
However, it seems actually to have introduced new bugs that are annoying for users of this version of Windows 11. As noted by Windows Latest and other users across the board in online forums, this is considered to be one of the most troublesome bugs affecting Windows users.
It disrupts programs initiated with File Explorer, as noted by Windows Latest and many other users across the board in online forums. File Explorer is probably the most critical application that, through the systems it has, presents on your desktop folders your home-to-office access and management of files. But with this bug, some folders become inaccessible to users who cannot open them.
According to Windows Latest, after the update in February for Windows 11 24H2, two of the most accessed folders that are Documents and Pictures have stopped responding when a user clicks on it. File Explorer can also be accessed through Windows 11’s search option or desktop shortcuts.
Users have been posting various experiences opening specific folders in which most users have experienced issues in most folders except for a few that are still working, while other individuals find problems in opening different folders.
All in all, this strange bug has produced some rather erratic results. On KB5051987 installation, if one is facing such strange folder issues that might refuse to open and show up even though there is nothing wrong with File Explorer itself.
For some, the download and installation got stuck at a certain percentage, and for others, they finally finished it, only to wait a ridiculously long time for the installation to complete.
