Threads Adds a Bookmarking Feature for Saving Posts to All Users

| Updated on February 28, 2024

Meta-owned Threads tested out the bookmarking feature with selected users over the past few weeks. Now, it is rolling out its new ability to Save a post to all users. This will enable you to bookmark a post that you want to visit at a later stage.

A similar feature is already available on competing social media platforms like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

Instagram Head Adam Mosseri announced on his Threads account that the bookmarking feature is now rolling out to more users. Have a look.

Go ahead and check out if the feature is live for you. If the feature is live on your profile, you can now bookmark your favorite posts by tapping on the three dots in the top right corner of the post. Then, you need to tap on the Save button to add it to the profile for accessing it later on.

It is another feature set that Threads is adding to the platform. Earlier this month, we reported that Threads is already testing Fact Check Markers and Today’s Topics to make the platform more engaging.

It is kind of a push to keep the existing users engaged and at the same time entice new users to the platform. Threads is competing with X as the platform has the opportunity to disrupt X’s hold on real-time engagement. While X nowadays focuses more on political content on the platform than anything else.

Still, there is a long way to go for Threads if they are to really compete with X. Meta has the power to do so. If they continue to amplify its efforts that will result in Threads coming out on top.
