Nintendo has some thrilling news for fans of unusual platformers and those who value nostalgic memories: the much-loved original Chibi‑Robo. A cult classic from the GameCube era is set to be added to the Nintendo Switch 2’s GameCube collection via Nintendo Switch Online+Expansion Pack on August 21, 2025.

Following legendary titles like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, F‑Zero GX, SoulCalibur II, and Super Mario Strikers, this inclusion brings the fifth GameCube game featured in the Nintendo Classics app on Switch 2. Chibi‑Robo! essentially fits among a preferred collection honoring Nintendo’s nostalgic treasures.

The endearing and obviously adorable idea of Chibi-Robo! really sets it apart. Four-inch-tall robot players aim mostly to spread delight throughout the Sanderson house by cleaning, running errands, and doing small acts of kindness. You’ll gather Happy Points and Moolah as you negotiate a fanciful world where toys come to life when people aren’t looking. Remember, as well, keep your battery charged, or Chibi-Robo running out of power could cost you half of your hard-earned Moola.

Originally debuted for GameCube in mid-2005 (and in 2006 for Western audiences), Chibi‑Robo! had somewhat little commercial success but grew to have a devoted following thanks to its character-driven gameplay and touching story. This small robot has developed a cult following unlike more conventional Nintendo games.

For admirers of major franchises, the next release provides a chance to find a pleasant oddity they could have missed, not just a trip down memory lane. Nintendo provides both long-time enthusiasts and newcomers the chance to interact with one of the GameCube’s most character-rich events in a contemporary, easy manner by bringing Chibi-Robo! to Switch 2. Access to the game will require a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription as well as a Switch 2 console. Starting August 21, 2025, the GameCube- Nintendo Classics app will provide the title.
