20 Wise Life Advice from People Over 60

| Updated on March 27, 2024
  1. In a survey of people over 60 on “What advice would you give today’s young people?” most participants mentioned the following:
  2. You really shouldn’t forget that!
  3. People always say, “A good job is one that you enjoy every day.” That’s an incredible statement. A good job is one that you can tolerate most workdays and still cover all your expenses. Almost no one has a job that you can adore every second of it. After all, teenagers start doing things they don’t enjoy at an early age. For example, students start looking for extra jobs to pay for their expenses and dorms. Some students can pay for homework help from others. They start to get tired of work from a young age and later get lost with their career choice. So what do mature people want to recommend to us?
  4. Years pass in the blink of an eye. Don’t get married young. Live life to the fullest. Travel. Take action. It doesn’t matter if you have money or not. Pack a bag and go wherever you can afford to go. Until you have kids, don’t spend money on things. Anything at all. See the world. Point to a point on a map. And go for it!
  5. Don’t take things too seriously. Even if at some points life seems hopeless and hopeless, try to laugh at all this shit and how you got so fucked up.
  6. A friend is someone who will come to the rescue, even if you call them at two in the morning. The rest are just acquaintances.
  7. The most important person in your life is the person who will agree to share their life with you. Consider it this way.
  8. You won’t see your children grow up. So spend as much time with them as you can.
  9. No one has ever died with regrets that they didn’t work hard enough in their life. Be hard-working, but don’t put work before family, friends, and ultimately yourself!
  10. You may live a long life, or you may live a short one-no one knows. But whatever the case, it’s when you’re young that you need to take care of your health.
  11. If you’re tired of your life, just stop, think about the present moment, enjoy all that is beautiful and really important. Take a deep breath, relax. And realize that everything is relative.
  12. Eat and exercise like you’re a diabetic with a heart condition – you’ll never be one.
  13. We only have one life. Don’t wake up one day with the realization that you’re 60 and you haven’t accomplished anything you’ve dreamed of all your life.
  14. This may not be as profound advice as others, but still: brush your teeth regularly, dental problems are terrible.
  15. Don’t follow all the advice as biblical precepts. You can ask for advice from someone you respect, then weigh your situation again and make your OWN decision.
  16. Things are just things. Don’t hold on to material objects, hold on to time and events.
  17. The damage you have done today will make itself felt in your old age. Even if you think you have healed them completely. BELIEVE!
  18. Appreciate every moment and every little thing. You always want everything when you’re young. But why not appreciate every little moment? We are not on this planet forever, and the greatest pleasure we can allow is to enjoy every moment. Instead of typing messages, pick up the phone and talk live with a person. Visit your mother, for absolutely no reason at all, just for nothing. Soak up every moment.
  19. Pay all your bills and stay out of debt.
  20. Jealousy destroys relationships. Trust your other half. If not her, who can you trust anyway?
  21. If you have an impossible dream, you should still at least try to get closer to realizing it. Because as you get older, it will become even more impossible to achieve.
  22. When you meet someone for the first time, realize that you KNOW NOTHING about that person. You see their nationality, their gender, their age, their clothes. Forget all that. You don’t know anything. Those stereotypes stick in your head because our brains like to categorize everything that limits your life.
