Mark Zuckerberg has tried the Apple Vision Pro, and he concludes that Meta Quest 3 is a better product, period.
This should not come as a surprise as his company makes Quest 3. However, after seeing his comprehensive review and comparison, his arguments do hold up in many respects. Quest 3 is a better product than Apple’s high-priced Vision Pro model.
Check out the video Mark Zuckerberg posted on Instagram.
He starts the video by highlighting the fact that Quest 3 is a better product because of a more impressive and interactive software library. That claim from Mark is true, Apple Vision Pro does not have a substantial amount of apps at the moment, but that could change in the future.
The Apple Vision Pro does offer Fruit Ninja, some special apps, and many iPad apps that are compatible to work with Vision Pro. However, it doesn’t have the immersion levels offered by Asgard’s Wrath 2, Resident Evil 4 VR, and many more games available on Quest 3.
The video posted by Mark is filmed with Quest 3’s passthrough mode in his living room. In this video, Mar highlights the tradeoffs Apple made to get the fanciest display possible into something that is worn on your head. He further explains the weight factor as Quest 3 weighs 120 grams less than Vision Pro. The lightweight form factor makes it more comfortable to wear for longer periods.
Mark also points out that Quest’s physical hand controllers and hand tracking for input are better. However, he mentions that he is a fan of eye-tracking tech and teases that it will return in future models of the Quest lineup.
And the most important distinction between these two is the pricing. Meta Quest 3 is seven times cheaper than Apple Vision Pro. Mark also emphasized that Meta Quest 3 is a better product for most people.
