YouTube Planning to Offer App for Apple Vision Pro

Ever since the launch of the Apple Vision Pro, an AR/VR headset, users have been skeptical about it. The reviews of the product are coming in from all types of users including tech YouTubers, Reddit users, and normal users as well.

Everyone is praising Apple’s attempt at AR/VR headset but there is one complaint, there are not many apps available in the App Store that many of us use. The same goes for YouTube.

YouTube has not made an app for Apple Vision Pro. But, don’t worry, the YouTube team is saying that they have plans to release an official app down the road. Talking to The Verge, a YouTube spokesperson confirmed that the company plans to make a native Vision Pro app in the future. In the meantime, it will optimize YouTube for Safari as a stopgap.

This statement from YouTube comes after developer Christian Selig launched an unofficial app for YouTube on Vision Pro. He is the creator of the popular Apollo app that Reddit killed in 2023.

We’re excited to see Vision Pro launch and we’re supporting it by ensuring YouTube users have a great experience in Safari,” a YouTube spokesperson said in an email to The Verge. “We do not have any specific plans to share at this time, but can confirm that a Vision Pro app is on our roadmap.”

After the launch of Vision Pro, many high-profile tech companies opted to not launch the apps for the platform. Netflix is also another company that didn’t launch an official app for Vision Pro.
