X video conferencing tool

In the latest step on its quest to become the everything app of Elon Musk’s dream, the company is now exploring the video conferencing tool.

One of the X employees, Chris Park posted a screenshot of the new video conferencing tool that the company has been testing internally. He mentioned that he held his first-ever conference meeting on X with some of his colleagues.

Park also claimed that initial feedback from the team was strong and the company will likely work on the features of the tool that are necessary for the tool. He also mentioned some of the things that need to be improved upon.

Elon Musk also responded to the tweet with a fire emoji. So, it looks like a confirmation from the X owner Elon Musk.

An app researcher by the name of P4mui also showed that users will be able to create new meetings directly from the iOS app. There will be an option to either create a meeting instantly or schedule it for later, just like other apps available in the market.

Have a look.

According to this tweet, the new option of conferences will be listed as a separate functionality in the right-hand sidebar of the app. You will see a new “Conferences” option once it is live. This option will include full streaming functionality for participants when active.

Like all other features of the platform, the conference function also does not have a clear release date as of yet.

X also allows live video streaming through its Spaces product. Other video conferencing software like Zoom and Google Meet also allows users to switch between video conferencing and seminar-style streaming. So, it is possible that X might merge both of these features in the future.

Before making this feature available, the company might want to take a close look at privacy and security controls.
