The latest update for the NVIDIA app and GeForce Game Ready driver is out with some significant enhancements. DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation for 75 games and applications along with a new Override feature are part of the enhancements.
But this is not all, NVIDIA has also launched an exciting new capability called Smooth Motion. This innovation feature permits the owners of the latest GeForce RTX 50 graphics card to turn on drive-based frame generation. They can do so globally or on a per-game basis.
NVIDIA Smooth Motion makes use of an exceptional AI model to create a smoother gaming experience. It does so by creating an additional frame between the two frames that already exist. For titles that lack DLSS Frame Generation, Smooth Motion is a valuable enhancement.
To enable Smooth motion, users need to select a compatible DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 game within the NVIDIA app under Graphics which they will find under Progam settings. Following this, they need to scroll down to Driver Settings and toggle on Smooth Motion.
This feature can be used in games running at their native resolution. Along with this, it can also be used in-game to employ technologies or other scaling methods, effectively doubling the perceived frame rate.
This development seems to be NVIDIA’s answer to AMD’s Fluid Motion Frames 2. However, the added sophistication of a comprehensive AI model reflects the company’s commitment to artificial intelligence.
While there are methods available to inject frame generation into games they don’t support it natively like Lossless Scaling. In addition to this, the Game Ready driver is fine-tuned for the upcoming Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
NVIDIA has also introduced a GPU Utilization feature for RTX video when the Quality setting is on Auto. By making changes to the GPU Utilization to High, the system will have the complete power of the GPU to deliver the highest quality super-resolution.
