The preview cumulative update KB5055627 for Windows 11 24H2 has, in recent weeks, been released by Microsoft with several new features that stagger in rollout and bug fixing for every user.
KB5055627 has been Microsoft’s first update after their 50th anniversary program wherein Microsoft makes it possible for administrators to assess bug fixes, enhancements, and features set for release during the program’s May Patch Tuesday release at the end of each month.
These optional preview updates lack any security issue fixes, distinguishing them from regular cumulative updates which issue security fixes on the Patch Tuesdays.
Open Settings; from there go to Windows Update and click Check for Updates to perform the KB5055627 update installation. The KB5055627 update is optional; if you have not activated the ‘Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available’ option, it will ask for your permission to proceed with downloading and installing; that will involve you clicking the Download and install link; whereas an activated option leads to installation of the update automatically.
Alternatively, KB5055627 can be manually downloaded and installed from the Microsoft Update Catalog site. AI features on Copilot+ PCs now allow you to quickly find and switch back to any application, website, image, or document, just by describing what it contains. To use Recall, you must agree to save snapshots, recordings of your activity, and set up Windows Hello to verify your identity, so that you alone can view your snapshots.
With Click to Do (preview), the fast actioning of anything that interests you on your Copilot+ PC has become a lot easier. It is an in-lining time saver that helps you finish tasks quickly and redirect you to the app most suited to accomplishing the task immediately.
Enhanced Windows Search in Copilot+ PCs makes it easy to locate your documents, images, or settings in Windows 11 through the means of semantic indexing models coupled with conventional lexical indexing.
