iPhone 16 Series Available at a Discount in China

Apple’s new iPhone 16 series is already available at a discounted price in China. This is quite surprising, considering the tech giant’s record sales of smartphones in the first week of their launch.

It might be due to China being the largest market for Apple products, giving competition to many local mobile phone brands. Online retailers have slashed costs until the release of the US company’s first on-device AI software.

Here is a brief overview of the top Chinese retailers and their discounted prices:

PDD Holding’s Pinduoduo, the most popular e-commerce platform, is selling the iPhone 16 Plus at ten percent discount = 8,999 yuan (US $1,268). While the iPhone 16 gets an 11 percent discount.

Alibaba Group Holding’s Taobao marketplace – iPhone 16 Pro Max – after a 4 percent discount – 9,599 yuan (US $1,352). In fact, Alibaba’s Tmall shopping platform is offering buyers the option to pay for the new Apple smartphone in 24 installments without interest charges.

Besides waiting for Apple Intelligence to be integrated into the new iPhone 16 series, the other new features of the smartphone include a Fusion camera system, powerful upgrades, multiple customizable options, a huge battery life, and much more.

The initial response to the new Apple smartphone among Chinese social media is average, and the pre-order sales were down by nearly 13 percent in the global market. The intense tech competition across international borders continues as Apple risks losing further market share and hopes to retain its first position among its loyal followers.
