iOS 18.3 has been recently re-released by Apple for older phones, however, indications suggest that another significant software update is approaching. Internal logs reveal that Apple is involved in actively testing an iOS 18.3.1 update.
The next iPhone software update by Apple is expected to put its focus on offering improved performance. The launch of iOS 18.3 brought several major enhancements to Apple Intelligence features.
These enhancements included some modifications to the display of notification summaries and visual intelligence improvements, including a new feature for Apple Calendar. Summaries for specific app categories were completely removed along with a much-appreciated fix for the Calculator app. The update also activated Apple Intelligence by default on all compatible iPhones.
Right now, beta testers are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the first iOS 18.4 beta which is expected to incorporate a wealth of new features, especially some important upgrades for Siri.
However, before the release of the initial beta, it appears that a public launch of iOS 18.3.1 may be on the horizon although the exact release date is not yet revealed. The changes that will be included in iOS 18.3.1 remain to be unclear, still, it is likely to focus on addressing bugs and boosting performance.
In a similar vein, Apple released iOS 12.1 earlier last month, which acted as a bug fix update. The 18.2.1 update was described as “This update provides important bug fixes and is recommended for all users.”
A similar announcement could be expected for iOS 18.3.1 when it will be released as the next update for iPhone. It is anticipated that this update instead of bringing new features will try to deal with the current bugs in iOS 18.3.1 that users are experiencing by bringing fixes for them.
