| Updated on November 30, 2024

Instagram has been testing out many features of late to improve its platform significantly. In that bid, they are testing out another collage feature for stories.

Some users have started seeing a new pop-up to post a collage of images from their camera roll to stories. This will be another way of creating more engaging stories.

Take a look at the above image. You can see that Instagram is now rolling out a new option for stories that allows users to select multiple images from their camera roll to create a new collage image for stories.

Social media influencer Matt Navarra shared this example on Threads.

Well, it’s not a new feature for Instagram, but it is new for stories. With this new feature, users would be able to create all kinds of visual designs with their images.

It is a great addition to the platform as stories are getting boring. Now, we’ll be able to create new types of images through this.

The platform has been experimenting with collages for some time now. They are trying to add this feature in as many places on the platform as they can.

They’ve been trying to create collages since early 2022. Ever since the Shuffles app from Pinterest started getting traction.

We all know that Meta always tries to copy a new social media feature that starts to get any traction. They do this to stop the outflow of users from Instagram to other apps.

Many hate this approach, but it has been working so far for them. Right now, Facebook and Instagram are the two most popular social media apps.
