Pixel notification sync to offer better performance

Many will never experience the annoyance of having the same notifications from different Android devices. Fortunately, with the launch of Android 15, users have gained the capability to dismiss these notifications on all their devices. This can only be done when they are logged into the same account and are connected to a Wi-Fi connection.

Normally, this feature functions quite effectively but there has always been potential for Google to enhance it further. Thankfully, it looks like progress is being made in that direction. While it is not fully realized yet, the company is right now exploring the possibility of eliminating the Wi-Fi requirement, allowing the devices to use mobile networks for this functionality as well.

Although this capability is not available yet, a sneak peek of is available because of the team at Android Authority. The latest update to the device connectivity service reveals code showing that mobile networks could soon be utilized for syncing notifications.

This enhancement will streamline the process that allows devices to synchronize even when they are not connected to Wi-Fi. While the news is thrilling, the downside is that no clear timeline is still clear about when this feature will be rolled out.

The users likely have to wait a while before it is officially launched, as it appears to be in the early development stages. The company plans to bring in some changes with its Android releases beginning next year and Android 16 is expected to make its debut in the first half of 2025.

This marks a shift from previous years, where Google generally aligned its updates with the fall launch of its Pixel devices. Overall, the upcoming year promises to be intriguing for Android users, especially those with Pixel devices.

Google aims to make a significant impact in the software realm and the users may witness its most refined work yet with the next Android version.
