Google Drive Search on iOS Just Got Upgraded: Discover What’s New

| Updated on March 5, 2024

There is some good news for Google Drive users on iOS devices. Google has announced that it is improving Google Drive’s search experience on iOS devices. The update for Android will come in the following months.

It now allows you to filter searches using dropdown menus for File Type, Owners, and Last Modified. The dropdown menus show before and after the search along with relevant recommendations when the user types.

The company says that the update is available to Google Workspace customers, individual subscribers, and anyone with a personal Google account on iOS. The same feature will be coming for the Android version as well in the coming months.

With the new update, users will be able to search and browse for files when they don’t know where the file is. The new filter options are much more pleasant than the previous options. Now, you can even search for files without any name, just like you would on a web browser version of the drive.

If you are looking for a PDF file but have no idea what it’s called, then you can now choose a customer filter, File Type to search for it. You can even use the last modified option to check when you’ve touched it.

It is a very good improvement from Google to make the drive a better experience for every user.
