Google is making it easy for users to shop through Google Shopping by adding some new features. They have announced new features in a bid for a holiday shopping push.
The new updated Google shopping features include updated listings within Google Lens searches. Now, Google Lens searches will show you competitive prices for items that you search.
You can see from the above example image, that Google will now provide competitive prices when you click a photo of a certain item.
Here is what Google says about the new update.
“This new update is made possible by major advancements in our AI image recognition technology. It’s powered by the Shopping Graph’s 45 billion+ product listings, in-stock inventory data from a range of retailers and our Gemini models to bring you an entirely new way to shop in-store. 72% of Americans say they use their smartphone while shopping in-store, and more than half say they’ve left a store empty-handed because they didn’t feel confident enough to buy. This new feature can give shoppers the information and confidence they need to make a decision on the spot.”
With this, users can compare prices in different stores right from the Google app.
Apart from this, they are also making it easier for users to find shopping listings on Google Maps. This way, you will be able to locate in-stock items nearby.
“Just search for an item, like a festive sweater, to discover stores nearby that carry it and browse relevant inventory. You can search for products including home goods, electronics, clothing, and more, as well as items from grocery stores or retailers.”
It means if you can’t wait for the delivery or don’t want to get out of the house, you’ll be able to browse items in stores near you.
Google is also adding new payment options as well. Customers will soon be able to pay with Afterpay and Klarna, in addition to the existing payment options.
